Default Canon Drivers/OS-X 10.8

One of my clients runs a print shop. He has three Canon copier/printers, all with Fiery RIPs. He just replaced an ancient Mac with a Mac Mini running 10.8. All the relevant apps copied, but printer drivers did not.

We found what appear to be correct drivers from Canon and we know the IP addresses of the machines, but printing always fails. I suspect we need some other kind of driver, one that understands the Fierys.

These machines are old enough that support from Canon is minimal. Does anyone here experience getting dinosaurs to work with a modern Mac?

CLC 4000 and CLC 5100, each with a ColorPass Z7100PS; imageRunner 8070 with an imagePass M3.
