Default That was fun

I recently bought three USB flash drives. They cost me more than buying a netbook. Maybe as much as a cheap laptop. But I decided to live it up. And they are making my life much easier, because I no longer have to take out an external hard drive and hook it up. Much easier to do backups. And with this ease it now makes sense to store some stuff offline. I avoided that before because it was a pain to get it back online. This works better.

The only thing is I keep thinking in terms of these drives as devices that cannot be written anywhere near as often as magnetic hard disks. I don't even know if that's true. I don't even know how flash memory works. Isn't this the same stuff they use in solid state drives? I guess I could look this up.
