Default Photoshop tips

These work in CS5, they might work in other versions:

This all assumes you are familiar with Photoshop.

1. To visually enlarge the canvas without going through the menu, use the crop tool to select the entire image. Release the mouse button. Then, use the grab handles to pull the selection out beyond the borders of the image. Hit your enter/return key and the canvas will be the size of the selection. And btw, you don't really have to grab the handles. You can grab anywhere on the side.

2. To cycle through the blending modes without using your mouse, hit shift-plus. To reverse the direction hit shift-minus. This works in Mac and Windows. Windows users can also highlight the blending mode selection windows and use up or down arrow keys.

3. To apply a Blend-If setting to an adjustment layer, hold down alt (option) and double click on the adjustment layer's icon. The layer style menu will open, giving you access to Blend-If controls.

4. To change the blend mode of a smart filter, double click in the small icon to the right of the filter name (in layers).

5. To move a layer mask to another layer, drag its icon to the new layer. If you want to copy, alt (option) - drag.

6. You can add a layer mask to a group
