Default mac side antimalware/antispyware?

A friend's email address has been hacked and it looks like her address book has also been compromised. I suggested that she scan her system (a/v and antimalware) suggesting she download MBAM. The only problem is that I had forgotten that she was mac based--not sure what system she has now--probably a mac laptop of some sort.

Is there antimalware/antispyware software for macs?

She said she thinks that it was using public wifi in New Orleans airport on Sunday. Is that possible? Gut level says so but I don't really know enough about wifi.

If it were the public wifi she used, what could she have done to protect herself?
