Default Need Laptop for Graphic Designer/Photographer

I saw some threads on this but they're over a year old. I guess if someone wants to redirect this post to one of them, that's fine.

I finally got a job as a graphic artist and, with moving out of my parents' house, need to buy a laptop for freelance work. I've always used Windows and honestly don't how pro graphic designers swear by Mac and loath PC. I used a Mac at college but don't see how it's superior or considerably different; maybe someone can convince me otherwise.

Anyway, I use Creative Suite and am an avid photographer, so obviously I need to handle big software and strong graphics. Cost is a concern of course, but I've saved a good deal so it's not necessarily of highest importance. I'll also want a mouse because I can barely stand the tiny finger pad on laptops.

Thanks for any advice you can provide.
