Default Ghostscript prevails?

I just tried to print a report from Access 2002 using the Adobe PDF 6. I got the following error and no PDF file:

Error: rangecheck; OffendingCommand: endcidrange

So I downloaded a copy of the free CutePDF writer, which uses PS2PDF converter, a Ghostscript utility. Printed to CutePDF and the resulting PDF looks okay.

Anyone else running into situations that Acrobat can't handle, but competitors can?
