Default Win 7 64bit compatibility

Win 7 64bit is the least compatible MS OS I've ever used. This is the first time older programs don't install or don't work correctly. For example, Eudora has trouble getting email depending on security settings. I usually have to fetch twice. ACDSee Classic can't drag files into its shortcut list. Button Factory can't install. I gave up on Acrobat and had to revert Windows to undo the damage. And older help files are not supported, unless I download a fix, that sort of works but not quite.

With previous versions of Windows I could run anything, including old DOS programs. I guess MS is putting less importance on compatibility these days.
