Default Serious PDF attacks (12/15/09)

Adobe has announced a serious vulnerability in the Adobe Reader and Acrobat versions 9.2 and earlier, for all platforms. The company says it will issue a patch to fix the problem on January 12, 2010. You can follow updated information on the Adobe Product Security Incident Response Team (PSIRT) advisories page.

According to Sidney on Tapcis, this does not mean you must disable JavaScript in your browsers — just in the prefs for the PDF products.

You can instead use a different PDF reader program — such as Preview on the Mac, and others on Windows.
