Default Linotype font classics for the 21st century

From the FontShop Oct. 8 Blog:

Reminded me to look at the collected 21st-century revisions of Linotype “Platinum” classic typefaces especially for the digital era:
It is interesting to consider all of these revised families together. There have been many changes to most of them, among them added weights, widths, and characters. I have not used these new fonts so have little to say — but am I the only one who sees increasing similarities among these once-distinct type families?
