Default Cool way to avert spam

SpamGourmet lets you create disposable e-mail addresses, and you can set the number of e-mails you are willing to receive from each one. So if you are ordering from an unreliable (or merely unknown) merchant, you can avoid the risk of getting dozens or hundreds of e-mails if they sell or give away your address. There is no charge for the service.

Binky Melnik has posted a good description of SpamGourmet on Snarkish, including a link to the service itself. Sounds pretty good to me.

If you do not know about Snarkish, it incorporates the old CIS MacSupport forum along with some pop culture sections. Quite a few familiar CIS names there.
