Default Overheard...

This evening there were a group of us waiting at the level crossing; I wasn't exactly eavesdropping on the woman next to me, but couldn't really avoid hearing her side of the phone conversation:

"No, Darren, I'm bloody not going to bail you out again."

"I've told you: no. You can stay there overnight for a change. I'll see you when you go up before the bench in the morning."

She now had the undivided attention of pretty much all of us.

"Well, they know what you're like, and I reckon you'd have bashed him even if you were stone-cold sober, so you won't be able to plead that."

I'd have loved to have learned more, but the barriers went up and we all crossed and went our separate ways!
