Default Loud buzz from my iMac

I was just sitting here quietly typing a message when my iMac emitted a loud buzzing sound that lasted about 2 seconds, maybe 3. It really scared me — I thought the machine was dying, but everything seems to work all right.

The sound came from the frame of the iMac, which is where the power supply and hard drive are located. I had the volume control down to one pip, so this was definitely not a normal sound.

Should I panic? Arrange for service?
