Default Purchasing in UK fom N.America...will it work??

Just a quickie. I think I know what the answer will be, but nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I live in Britain. Suppose I were to purchase the Adobe CS upgrade via credit card from a N.American supplier, at a much lower cost, and have a relative shipped over top me?

I'm sure some of you would see this as unethical. However, I bet I'm not the only one to have pondered this.

the main point is, would it work? Would my CS 1.X number still work? I was told by an Adobe customer support person that it may work, it my not. What's the situation on this?

I was also told that I'd forfit my right to UK tech support. Is this also true???
