Default Very Bad Book

I’m reading today a book by a woman, which the cover says has previously authored more than 40 other books. She is on the board of directors of an important magazine and international organization, as well as being a greatly sought after speaker and teacher.

However, this is literally the worst book I’ve ever read in my life. There is nothing, absolutely nothing, I like about it. The sentence structures and rhythms are horrible. The metaphors are warped. The thought processes mechanical and lifeless. The messages are shallow and meaningless. The…well, it’s bad…

The woman knows she has a soul, but it seems she has lost contact with it. And if I read anymore, what might happen to my having one?? I don’t know.

I guess looking at this book is a blessing to me, in making me realize just how much I should really appreciate good writing. But why are books like this, not existent, but so popular. She’s authored more than 40 books?!?? What’s wrong with the readers?? Is there any hope for good writing to continue, or are we on a downward spiral to being endlessly shallow??
