Default Good GIF, Charlie Brown

Client wants a GIF of their logo. Logo is an Illustrator EPS (all text was converted to outlines long before I got the file).

When I open it in Photoshop and save as GIF -- either by doing a Save As or Save for Web -- I see a lot of inscrutable options pertaining to Palette, Forced, Matte, Dither, etc.

I've tried several combinations of settings but still end up with a jagged image with white fringing around the edges. (The logo is dark blue.)

How do I get a good GIF?
