Default Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 and Vista

So it's safe to use Vista now that Adobe products are compatible, eh?

I downloaded this new version of Elephants just after Christmas, so I could play around with it at home before buying it (there's a 30-day evaluation period). I really, really like the new version of Bridge, so I coughed up my £50 and got a licence number. Trouble is, the program kept rejecting the licence. Adobe customer service say they've had lots of installation issues with Vista, and I should try all of the following in turn:

1. Turn off UAC in Vista (no, didn't work)
2. Create a new temporary administrator account and try that (nope)
3. The trial version sometimes doesn't recognise when you enter the serial number (yes, that's what I found, so...)
4. So you have to uninstall the trial version, do 1 and 2 above, then install the version that came with the licence number, then delete the temp account, then turn UAC back on again. Seems the two versions work slightly differently under Vista, but oops -- we forgot to warn people.

That finally worked, but there's no way I'm going to install CS3 on a Vista PC just yet!
