Default first-child (etc.) work in MSIE 7?

Looking at the navigation examples in the illustrated Seybold presentation in the thread entitled “Why tables for layout is stupid” —

I see that the examples of CSS-controlled horizontal and vertical navigation bars use first-child. Is this now supported in MSIE 7? Pretty sure IE6 ignores it.
