After the long discussions on Adobe Acrobat, I looked at the printer list on my new WinXP computer and learned that I have eight printer drivers. One was a mistake, so I deleted it, but some of the
others are interesting. I have Acrobat Distiller and Acrobat PDF Writer, which work fine. The two unexpected ones are MS Office Document Image Writer, which produces a MDI extension file, and MS XPS Document Writer. These two Microsoft printer drivers are are installed along with MS Word 2003. I don't know that I would have a use for them, though. I tested the four file creating drivers, and found that Distiller was 29Kb, PDF Writer 4Kb, MDI (Image writer) 6 Kb, and XPS, 38Kb. |
