Default Qantas has a new logo . . .

. . . including a kangaroo some designers are comparing to a late Jurassic critter. And they have commissioned a new typeface to match the new logo. That last bit is a stretch, if you ask me — the logo is slender, the typeface made of round-cornered inclined chunks.

See “Qantas spunks AU$100m on ‘pterodactyl’” in The Register (with a link to the Qantas press release).

I think the logo is pretty, but do see that traditionalists would be upset at the changes. It is more abstract and curvaceous than the older designs — a kangaroo as it might be rendered by a modern-day Erte!
