Default New to InDesign CS3

I have just got a new mac mini intel computer. I have a lot of work to do importing PageMaker 6.5 files into InDesign, getting the files ready, then exporting them to PDF.

Does anyone know how to get Adobe Fonts into/onto the Intel? I am switching from an old Mac 3G to OX 10. We've tried putting the Adobe Fonts onto an external drive and importing them to the Mac Mini, but the Mac Mini doesn't recognize the external thumb drive. What file do these Adobe fonts need to go in to?

I'm worried -- do I have to go in to each document and change the fonts to Open fonts?
