Default Faster Page Loads—Bundle Your CSS and Javascript?

SitePoint have this to say in their latest newsletter;
Faster Page Loads—Bundle Your CSS and Javascript

Now are they right? Can we do that for our pages if we have multiple CSS and Java Scripts to be loaded?

What about in our CMS (like Joomla) pages, would bundling make any appreciable difference in the speed our pages load?
