Default InDesign CS3 + Drop shadows

Hi Guys,

It's been a while since i was here.

What ARE the settings for getting a decent print result while using dropshadows? (please help!)

attached image:
left = screenshot indesign view
right = exported screenshot of the pdf

eg: photo with a drop shadow (standard settings) on top of another photo with a drop shadow (standard settings) and underneath both is let's say a sky blue rectangle angled at 45 degrees with a transparency of 33% and all this sitting on a solid yellow circle (no transparency).

now i don't know bout you guys, but everytime i export it to pdf, I'm getting HORRIBLE borders where the drop shadow is a solid black > white gradient.
