I recently bought an HP 2200D laserjet on ebay and, just as a matter of course, I bought (also via ebay) 64MB of printer RAM bringing the total for the printer to 72mb.
I mentioned this to Cristen and she asked me why I needed more printer RAM and I was at a loss to tell her why. When I bought my HP6MP in 1997, it was strongly suggested that I get more RAM for the printer and I just assumed that the suggestion still held true. In 1997, I think I paid close to $100 for 16mb so the $24 I paid for 2 sticks of 32mb printer RAM certainly won't break the bank but, I'm wondering now if (given the 2gb of system RAM I have) I really needed to add the printer RAM--the 2200D comes with 8mb standard and it's a postscript printer.
