Default InDesign & fonts (invisible, unchangeable)

I'm working on InDesign for Windows. The primary fonts I'm working with are Franklin Gothic Heavy and Times New Roman. I haven't had any problems with either of those.

In the preflight, I was surprised to discover that a couple of other fonts had popped up in my 400-plus-page document -- primarily, Trajan and Helvetica Bold. Unfortunately, the program did not allow me to change them. I clicked on the font, selected a replacement, and hit "Change All," but nothing happened and I continued to get that annoying exclamation point. To make matters worse, when I went to "Find Font" to figure out exactly where these fonts were, nothing happened. The "Find Font" option didn't even tell me what page the fonts were on. The only piece of information it gave me was a character count, which was only "2."

It's like I'm searching for an invisible needle in a massive haystack! I've only been working with InDesign for about four months. This is VERY furstrating and I'm on deadline!!

Can anyone help??
