Default Happy Thanksgiving, USA!

Just thought it would be worth mentioning — if for no other reason, to remind the rest of the world why so few Americans are posting today.

We are having a minimalist feast: pre-cooked chipotle-smoked turkey, a simple cranberry sauce, traditional bread stuffing with mushrooms (technically a dressing, I guess) on the side, and some very dear imported asparagus. I hope we can finish with pumpkin pie (bought frozen), but it seems to have gotten a bit scorched on top. Have to see how that tastes.

Jack has been pondering wines for several days (hard to be sure what chipotle and smoke will go with) — we were wavering between a gigondas and an American pinot noir. I am leaning toward the gigondas, myself.

I hope everyone has a lovely day.
