Default Converting web documents into print layout

Dear DTP Forum,
I have thousands of html documents with a lot of tables and graphic images, that I want to convert into something more suitable for printing and reading - I want to optimize the white spaces left beside the tables and the images, downsize them to fit in one page only, distribute text into columns and safe the text formatting as close as possible to the original.

Is there some piece of software that can help me do that? The issue here is the process has to be automated as much as possible as the amount of the documents is so frustratingly huge.
