Default Styling a Calendar

I need to update this web site:

http://ppa.templeisaiah.com/dates.html

and I would like to use far more CSS, but am having trouble figuring out how to translate the table controls (such as align= cell padding, etc) to CSS.

I am not asking anyone here to do the translation, but would like a reference to a site that covers the subject. The ones I have found so far are not comprehensive.
