Default GoLive & Dreamweaver gossip

According to an Adobe rumor reported on Think Secret, GoLive will remain in the CS3 set, but much altered.
Having acquired Macromedia and its Dreamweaver application, which Adobe will continue to develop and target at professional Web designers, GoLive's focus will shift towards providing traditional graphic designers with a means to easily deliver their creations on the Web.
The site also said that GoLive is having an interface makeover, with a new “toolbar that mimics InDesign and Illustrator,” the article says.

It sounds as if Dreamweaver is the software for web designers, and will continue to be so. No matter how well GoLive works as a CS module, I shudder to think of the web pages we will begin to see that are auto-converted from print pages!

While I am sure it will be better that what we saw a few years ago when PageMaker and XPress offered auto-web conversions, but there so many inherent differences in the two formats — with much more flexibility and control in print — that it is hard to imagine what will emerge.
