Default Typo3: lost my password

There doesn't seem to be a *single* set of active forums devoted to Typo3, so I thought I'd take a stab here.

After much pain, tears, hair-pulling, and stomach bleeding, I got Typo3 (v3.8) installed. Yay! Then my browser crashed. Went back in to do some configuring ... and I can't get back in again. It hates either my user name or my password. I'm *pretty* confident I know my user name, and I *thought* I knew my password, but apparently I don't. I've been scrounging through files looking for places I can zero out so there's no password or user name (I'd hurry up and create 'em), but I've only found a place where the install password goes. I cleared it, but still no love.

If you have the foggiest notion how to get back into my Typo3 installation, I'd be so grateful I'd give you one of my ovaries!
