Default Half Bath

Half Bath as a term for a toilet with a handbasin is one I have not met before. Is it in common use? Bathroom seems to be common in the US.

As a U (Upperclass) bloke I would never use the word Toilet, but something like Loo, or Bog, but there are a thousand other names.
