Quark acquires the business and assets of ALAP

Quark Inc. today announced that it has acquired the business and assets of A Lowly Apprentice Production Inc. (ALAP).

Founded in 1990, ALAP has well over a decade of experience producing leading-edge software that dramatically extends the functionality of QuarkXPress and other publishing applications. With this transaction, Quark has acquired ALAP’s award-winning suite of software, including design tools such as ImagePort and ShadowCaster, imposition tools such as Imposer Pro, and productivity tools such as XPert Tools and MarkIt.

ALAP software, used daily by QuarkXPress users all over the world, provides a natural complement to QuarkXPress. Customers of Quark and ALAP will see an immediate benefit from the closer collaboration between Quark and ALAP, particularly with regard to the development of QuarkXPress 7.
