Default Oldstyle or Lining Figures for business cards / stationary

How do you folks usually set figures for business cards, letterhead etc?
Oldstyle figures or Lining figures? Is there a "rule of thumb" or convention for this?

In my case, I'm using a sans face (Lucasfonts TheSans Semi-Light) at 8 pt with about 9 pt leading.

Anyone have any thoughts or opinions?
