Default Oak Knoll book festival

Oak Knoll Books is an antiquarian book shop and, in recent years, a publisher of books on printing, the art of the book, typography, and related topics, often in partnership with the British Library.

On October 1–2 this year Oak Knoll will hold Oak Knoll Fest XII in New Castle, Delaware (less than an hour south of Philadelphia). All books in the Oak Knoll shop will be 20% off, there will be speakers, and exhibits from 40 different fine-book presses. It is free and open to the public, no pre-registration or reservations required.

I have never attended one of these fests, but I have been to the store — on a junket with Joe Treacy after a conference in Philly, probably 15 years ago. What a book store! If you have any interest in the book arts, old type specimens, classics on design and typography, book collecting, and more, this is a must-see place. (Of course, you can buy from their catalogs and steadily improving web site; but it is a lovely store, well worth a visit.)
