Bitmap fonts — clear explanation
In case you’ve been wondering:
Type designer Mark Simonson provides a good summary explanation of bitmap fonts on Typophile (scroll down to get to his long message). Among other things, he points out that true bitmap fonts rarely work today — what seem to be bitmaps are size-optimized outline (Type 1 or TrueType) fonts. __________________ :: |
