Default Adobe Acrobat X

Adobe has announced Acrobat X Pro, to be released in December. It is full of new or improved stuff:
  • Better file conversion, from most types, to pdf, html, more
    .
  • Better PDF editing, exporting (Word, Excel)
    .
  • Support for print production (previews, preflight, trap resets, and more)
    .
  • Combine files (standardize color palette, insert audio, Flash stuff, native files, add navigation)
    .
  • Collect PDF form data
    .
  • Enhanced PDF security
    .
  • More accessible PDFs
Etcetera. Check out new/enhanced features and tech specs from the menu at the top of the Adobe page.

Pricing is shown in the Upgrade guide. It seems that Acrobat will no longer be included in the Creative Suites. Updating Acrobat from version 9 (included in CS4 pro) to the new Acrobat X Pro will cost $199. The Acrobat X Suite, which seems to include Photoshop CS5, is $799.

You can pre-order now, download a PDF showing detailed Acrobat X family comparisons, and view a showcase at the site.
