Default Quark assembles prepress tools

Quark Print Collection is a set of prepress tools for XPress 7 and Acrobat 7.

According to the developer, Quark Print Collection “is the ideal choice for publishing imposed documents, whether you are a publisher looking for an in-house solution to produce booklets and other multi-page jobs or a professional printer looking for a simple and flexible solution for your imposition needs.”

Besides the imposing tools for XPress and Acrobat, the collection includes Quark MarkIt, and Quark Item Marks, XTensions that let you create custom printer marks such as registration targets, color bars, text slugs and even logos. These marks can be applied to individual items or entire pages.

The software is not yet available, and diligent searching of the web site failed to say when it would be released or its price. A note on Macintouch said it would cost $299 and would be out October 30.

For Mac OS X (10.4 or higher; runs natively on Intel Macs) and Windows XP. 30-Day demo will be available.
