Default More ID Questions

OK, now I have worked with InDesign for a few hours. I can find many of the answers I need in Help, but a few thing escape me:

1. In PageMaker there is Links Manager that lets me tell if images have been changed and cause them to be updated. I found the Links pallette in ID, but image files don't show up in it. What am I missing?

2. In PM, text frames can have interior margins. I don't see how to do that in ID.

3. When I place text and tell it to autoflow, I seem to end up with several extra text frames. Is there a way to automatically delete them?

4. I love the way ID handles images (except that cropping and scaling seem to be reversed), but am I the only one who finds navigating around pages and between pages to be frustrating? In PM, ctrl-0 regularly shows both pages of a spread. Centered in the window. Not so in ID. Page up and page down move reliably from spread to spread. Again, not in ID. Or am I missing something?
