Default Google for programmers

Came across this link for Krugle which isn't live yet, but it could be useful for finding code and related info.

I signed up so I should get notified when they go live. I'll keep you posted as soon as they do

From that page:

>> enablesyou/01/to quickly find and review source code 02/find code related ... <<

If it were really oriented toward programmers, wouldn't the list numbering start with "00"?

Maybe it's oriented towards user-friendly programmers?!

<h1>01 is the new 00!</h1>

We'll see when the site is up proper.

On a personal note; looking into all things web brings back memories - in a distant past I did some studying that involved programming and if you've learned one programming language it's not that alien to learn another.

Unfortunatley we used one that I've never encountered in "real life" - Modula 2, if anyone remember that one! I believe it was originally designed to be a learning tool, but even if it had some redeeming features it was never going to be used commercially.

It is apparently still around. On their site it is available to download for free. although it alerts you to the fact that it may not be used for developing software used in air traffic control systems...

Not what I had in mind anyway!

Or, to paraphrase Djikstra: it doesn't matter what programming language I use; I always program in the same language.

A not uncommon restriction on compiling tools with integrated libraries.

I think I still have some 5.25" floppies around containing (Logitech's?) M2SDS.

If old Archimedes still starts up, I do (I haven't tried in a long time)

Actually, I *do* have a couple of 5.25" floppy drives - just not installed in any system. I once planned to archive all the floppies.

Hmm, I could probably install and run the software under the Linux DOS emulator.

Back in about 1987 or 1988, when computers were still something of a novelty in business, someone sent me a 5.25 inch floppy that had been folded in half. I put it into the drive on the original IBM PC (not even an AT!) that I had at the time and it read it!
