Default Ventura & QuarkXpress Passport

Hello all,

*** I am not sure which forum this question is best posted in. So I have it here and also in "Print Production & Automation" forum. I apologize for that.

Is there a way to edit a Corel Ventura file in QuarkXpress Passport? Or is there a common file format that can be produced by Ventura and editable in QuarkXpress? Or is there a 'middleware' of some sort between Ventura and QuarkXpress? Anything in the realm of XML technology?

We've been producing products using Corel Ventura for years but this new client of us wants to be able to manipulate his product in QuarkXpress (like changing font type and size) at his end. It seems to me that there is no solution for this.

Thank you in advanced for your help.

Unfortunately, not that I know of. If you plan to continue producing products in Ventura (that's what we use here as well) there is definitely no clean way to go back and forth between Ventura and Quark, and I honestly don't think there's a truly viable way to do a one-time, one-way conversion either, sorry!

Haven't used Ventura for years. Is there a way to export to a Word file from Ventura? Preferably keeping style names. You could then import into Quark with the option of keeping the Word styles. It would still be a major reformat, and then you would never get the work back from the client!

Or worse ... you might.
