Default No thread view in Threaded View? Huh?

KT --

Any idea why Threaded Mode does not display the thread tree on this thread but Hybrid does. Other threads just now showed the tree in thread mode but not this one which is completely blank in the thread pane.

Could it be the size of the attachment?

No idea, but suspect it is (was) either something local for you or something that happened about that time. I found the thread tree just now in Threaded View (and in Hybrid).

Still the same and only for that thread so I don't see how it could be local .....

In Hybrid I see the thread tree but not if I am in Threaded view regardless of whether I am in TV when I go to that thread or whether I am in Hybrid view and go to it or while in it switch to Threaded View ...

It happened once before but I don't find anything between us in PMs although I remember a message -- perhaps I actually cleaned out something!

I never throw anything out unless forced; going back to 2007, nothing from you.

What browser are you using? Has this weird thing ever happened at another vB site?

I'm using XP Pro SP3 with IE7 browser. I don't know that I go to other vB sites but it has not happened anywhere but here and on this occasion, as I say, uniquely to this thread.

Our communication about may not have been by PM but I do remember you blaming it on the forum software in use at that time .... <s>

I've just fired up my second desktop and booted it to Windows 7 32 bit so it's IE 8 with different hardware including graphic chip .... and I still don't see the thread tree in this one thread when I'm in Threaded Mode but I do see it in Hybrid mode, just exactly as before on the other PC with XP Pro and different graphics chip etc ....

Not to flog a dead horse but Just the facts, Mam ....

I see the thread tree fine in Firefox on my computer as well as on my Motorola Droid. Unfortunately I am not able to do much of anything with the thread tree on the Droid as the thread pane has no scroll bar. Urk. So I am reduced to using Linear mode on my phone. Horrors!

I am completely mystified. Only this thread? All the others work as advertised?

Does it matter when/how you get to Threaded View? While looking, or at the end of the day, etc.?

Maybe we should ask for more experimenters. But first I will break this discussion off into its own thread. Then you can see if that one also fails to display the thread tree. If so, we will ask others to look. (You could also come back to the original thread to see if it is this threadlet that causes the problem.)

Well ... that fixed it for this thread .... I now see the thread tree and can select your message to reply to, unlike the Hybrid View.

Now to find the other thread if I can <g>

No the other thread is unchanged -- no thread tree visible in Threaded mode ... I even posted a reply to me just to see if that changed anything but it does not.

Could it be an attachment or anything like that?
