Default Grumble, grumble

I purchased a book via mail order. The book is difficult to read because the thin paper allows the type on the reverse said and the adjacent page to show through. The thin paper is necessary, but if they had used higher quality it would not be so bad. Also, the typeface is Century Oldstyle, which is less robust than most, and this doesn't help readability under these conditions. And the ink doesn't even look black. It looks sort-of black. I don't know if this is the typeface combined with the paper, but it definitely stands out less than other books.

I'm thinking of sending an email to the publisher, but I wonder if they will even care. OTOH, maybe sending it will allow me to strop fretting.
