Jpeg Enhancer
Jpeg Enhancer appears to be the same underlying jpeg cleaning engine as UnJpeg. I posted about UnJpeg here. There are some differences in controls and preview methods. But the results are so similar, I think they use the same technology for the jpeg cleaning part, but maybe not the sharpening part. Jpeg Enhancer costs much less, btw. It is $24.95 for home users and $49.95 for commercial organizations.
To summarize this one: It is a standalone program (not a plugin). There is no indication of batch processing ability. It has a simple mode with one slider to adjust. And an advanced mode with controls for Blotchy look removal, Artifact removal, Contrast Increase, and Crispness. The live preview is limited to a small square in the middle of the image. And after you make all your adjustments, you click process to see the full preview. So, if you are running Windows and have a need for a jpeg cleanup tool, this is one to think about. http://www.vicman.net/jpegenhancer/index.htm |
