I guess you dug a bit deeper that I did! Suspect I never have to write my own plugins, for what I need to do there are plenty on offer.

Portable programming is the way to go but I don't think that was what happened when they built Drupal...

Got to grips with the theming, which is far from logical, as there are CSS files everywhere. Well, I've made my choice so I'll better get on with it.
