Default Selling a Domain Name

Hi all, I haven't been around here since the Compuserve Inet Pub forum closed. I'm here now, of course, because I need some advice. <g> We have been offered $2500 for a domain name that we own but do not use. We set up a page on one of my sites that simply says it's for sale. Stockstrategy.com is the name. I can't think of any reason to hold out for more money...it's not a cocacola.com or phillipmorris.com type of name. What I want to know is how should we go about this transaction? This is a total stranger, and I do know that I need to verify that any funds are good before I transfer the title. What should I find out from the prospective buyer before we even get started? Business address and phone number? Home address and phone number? Assuming he's in the US, shouldn't we have some sort of contract?

Thanks,
Linda
