Default Laptop networking/drive sharing

A while ago, someone told me how to network Mr. Excitement's computer to mine so we could share the cable modem connection and one of the hard drives in my PC (via the router). Works fine.

But now I'm trying to network the laptop so it can also access one of the hard drives in my desktop PC, and it ain't workin'. The laptop does access the cable modem connection, so I know the network is networking. But I don't see the shared drive on the laptop.

This is all wired -- wireless was too slow.

Anyway, what's the trick to getting the laptop to see the desktop PC's drive? Both are running XP, SP2.

TIA,

mxh
