Default Clipping & Runaround

I'm a beginner at using Quark and I have a question about putting one image behind the other, with out the white of the image box getting in the way. How do I get rid of the white around the picture so that I can put another image right next to it? Do I use the clipping or runaround option to be able to put images right next to each other?
