Default Possible Eudora Fix!!!

Posted in the other thread but thought I'd also create a new thread so that it would be more visible...'-}}

Possible fix discovered by a dslreports user...here's the quickie summary--more tomorrow:

1. Download "hermssl.zip" (from: https://sourceforge.net/projects/hermesmail/files/ ) and unzipped it to its own folder-- There are 2 subfolders created: __MACOSX and HermSSL

2. Backup existing installed Eudora

3. Run vcredist.exe (installs Microsoft Visual C++ 2015)--it's in the unzipped hermssl folder --- NOTE: you may not need to install this and you can try the other steps without this and see if it works and if not, then run this, reboot and try again...

4. reboot

5. Copy all the files the from the unzipped "hermssl" folder files to my Eudora folder (files overlaid: ssleay32.dll, .ds_store, contents.txt, libeay32.dll, license.ssl, qcss.dll, readme.ssl, readme.txt, rootcerts.p7b)

6. reboot

7. Open Eudora, check the "Incoming Mail" tab for the Personality via "Properties" and double check the "Secure socket when receiving" is set to "Required, Alternate Port"

8. Try and retreive mail...

General info on this project:

Also see the following thread for more detailed info on using Hermes Mail along with a PDF of the info: "Possible Solutions to Eudora & Verizon, AOL, Yahoo Mail Issues"
