Very strange InDesign behaviour
I normally work in InDesign (Mac G4 running Tiger, InDesign version CS) with the pages in a single column, but for a recent job, just before output to PDF, I changed to Facing Pages so that I could output a spread.
The printer's prepress people noticed that on one page, the text wasn't running around the illustrations. Only on one page. The following page had the text running around normally. When I checked in InDesign, the text wrap palette showed the correct settings, but the text wasn't wrapping. Changing back to single, not facing, pages fixed the problem and I was able to output the PDF again, correctly this time. Has anyone seen this behaviour before? __________________ |

Yes, I've seen it a couple of times -- it's an annoying bug. You can solve the problem by toggling the setting of Text Wrap Only Affects Text Beneath, which forces a full recompose. Just turn it on/off, then when the doc has recomposed, reverse it. I wrote a script to fix it, but it doesn't tend to happen often enough to warrant it.

Does it still happen in CS2? I'm wondering if I need to bite the bullet and buy the whole suite, especially as Acrobat is about to be upgraded to 8 and I'm still on 6, along with Photoshop 7. __________________ |

I think that's where I struck it, but it was quite a while ago. I rarely have cause to change from/to facing pages.

Same here, which is why I was taken by surprise on a Sunday morning!
