Susan, I'd be in favor of going down to the local WalMart, WalGreen's or other "drug" store. They usually will do digital prints for 19-26c each in single quantity and can do better for several dozen at one time.

What you get is a photographic print on real photopaper, typically thick enough to meet postal regulations and within the correct dimensions. Can't match that price doing it yourself, and because it is a real photo, you don't have to worry about ink running in the rain.

I'm sure the different brands will each differ a little, but it is probably worthwhile to see what is in your area and check them /vs/ the post office regs.

I've sent plain photos as post cards for years before digital, never had the post office complain about them.
