New users should click on User CP and update their profiles with information about themselves that they are willing to share. Particularly helpful to the regulars here is a location, whether vague or very specific. If you are in Australia or Holland, that can be quite different from Pennsylvania or California.

I sometimes ask new users to add a location through the private messages, but everyone would do well to look over their profiles and do whatever updates are appropriate.
